TYPE FILTERS FLOW RATE, (approx). CHARACTERISTICS

TFA41, 4” (10.16 cm) Diameter 15-20 cfm Ashless. 95% collection efficiency of 1 micron.

  • .4-.6 cmm 58% DOP on 0.3 micron particles. Easily countable for Alpha particles, obtaining 70% count and a penetration absorbtion of approximately 30%.

  • Good efficiency for industrial dusts and for particulate matter size 1 0 microns and under to submicron to .01 micron. Sampler may be operated for approximately 1 hour without overheating.

  • Dissolvable with dimethylphthlate

TFAGF41 Glass Fiber, 4" Diam. 15-20 cfm Very high retention of fine particles. 99.97% retention

.4-.6 cmm efficiency of .3 micron particles. Recommended wherever gravimetric weighing ananlysis is used because of non-hydroscopic properties. Sampler may be operated for approximately 1 hour without overheating. Also see data on Glass Fiber Filters below.

TFA69, 6" x 9" 50-58 cfm Same Specs. As TFA41, except Sampler may be 1.4-1.7 cmm operated for approximately 24-48 hours.

TFAGF69 Glass Fiber, 6" x 9" 50-58 cfm Same Specs. As Above. Also see data on Glass Fiber

1.4-1.7 cmm Filters below.

TFA810, 8 " x 1 0 60-70 cfm Same Specs. As TFA69.

1.7-2 cmm

TFAGF810 Glass Fiber, 8" x 10" 60-68 cfm Same Specs. As Above. Also see data on Glass Fiber

1.7-2 cmm Filters below.

TFA2133, 4" Diameter 36-40 cfm Moderate flow rate. Moderate resistance buildup. 95%

1.0-1.1 cmm Collection Efficiency of particles .5 microns and over.

Countable for Beta Radiation. Sampler may be operated for one hour or more depending upon saturation without significantly overheating.

NOTES: cfm = cubic feet per minute; cmm = cubic meters per minute (35 cfm = 1 cmm)

GLASS FIBER FILTER DATA

Glass Fiber Filters are especially recommended wherever gravimetric weighing analysis may be required because of their non-hygroscopic properties, i.e. they will maintain constant weight under wide-ranging conditions of ambient humidity. Their excellent loading characteristics make them ideal for routine air monitoring and for specialized monitoring of solid pollutants, microrganisms, oil and acid smokes etc. They are particularly recommended where higher efficiency collection of fine particles is required. They exhibit higher particle capacity then cellulose filters. Their fine optical characteristics make them ideal for sensitive and accurate measurement of collected smoke particle. Used especially for on-the-spot visual examination and instrumentation. Glass Fiber Filters have a higher density then paper filters and can tolerate a far wide useful temperature range.

Composition of the Glass Fiber Filter is of such a nature that the finely woven texture of microfilaments of glass creates the highest sampling efficiency. The efficiency of the Glass Fiber Filters at the relative flow rate for particles as small as .3 micron is 99.98%.

Staplex Glass Fiber Filters are binderless (i.e. they do not contain organic binders). The heat resistance is up to approximately 470-490 degrees C.
