Principle of Operation

Staplex® Air Sampler draws low volumes of air through a filter by means of a rotary pump. Various types and sizes of filter papers, glass fiber filter media, filter cassettes and activated carbon cartridges are suitable for collection of samples. Flow rates are measured in liters per minute (LPM). Staplex Low Volume Air Samplers maximize flow rate and minimize sampling time for many air quality testing procedures, making them faster and more productive than personal samplers.

Fully adjustable flow control valve on graduated rotometer, settable over the full flow range. Accurate to ± 5% full scale.

Luer-lok fitting (standard) or tapered fitting (optional)

Gravimetric, taring, ashing, microscopic count, phase contrast or electron scanning microscopy, comparator, x-ray fluorescence, etc. depending on substance being sampled.

Features: Staplex Models LV-1 and LV-2 are capable of continuous use. The sampling efficiency will cover up to 35 LPM of air with resistance pressure of 40 " WG (3 " Hg). Extremely compact and rugged.

Maintenance: Staplex® Models LV-1 and LV-2 Air Samplers are equipped with a brush type motor and special self-lubricating bearings, requiring a minimum of attention. A few drops of No. 1 0 motor oil should be put into the unit every 200 working hours in the two small holes provided for in the carrying handle. If used continuously over an 8 hour period, it should be oiled daily after each run.

Features: Designed for use where electrical power is not available or practical, these Air Samplers are equipped with built-in self-charging Ni-Cad batteries and re-charger.

Standard Components: Motor, pump, flowmeter (rotometer), 1-1/8" diameter filter holder assembly, NiCad batteries and self-charging circuit, all designed and built into a small compact unit with convenient carrying case.

Re-charging: To recharge batteries, plug cord set into proper voltage outlet: 110-125 volts AC for Models BS and BS-S; 220-240 volts AC for Models BSA and BSA-S. Overnight (14 hours) charge is sufficient to restore full charge. Ni-Cad battery cell life is unlimited and can be recharged as many times as required. Sampler should not be operated during recharge.

Filter Holder Assemblies: Additional Filter Holder Assemblies save time and help avoid filter contamination when taking a series of samples. Luer connection for quick changing.

Filter Cassettes: Pre-loaded plastic styrene filter holders are very convenient and highly accurate. They are recommended for many OSHA and NIOSH sampling procedures, especially asbestos sampling. End caps prevent filter contamination before and after sampling. See below for most popular types. Other types also available.
